Maybe not fundamentally. Stealth is accomplished by taking in radar waves, or by deflecting from returning to beginning. This latter is achieved by a design that is proper of form. Not necessarily have to be a and that is smooth ...

  • Not necessarily. Stealth is achieved by absorbing radar waves, or by deflecting from returning to origin. This latter is achieved by a proper design of the form. Not necessarily have to be a smooth and aerodynamic design to be stealthy.
  • Well, the first F22 iterations had canards and they were dropped because they couldn't make the plane stealthy enough. That was ages ago though. All I can think of is that it must be difficult to make a really stealthy design with control surfaces near the nose (taking into consideration that the designs usually aim for "frontal" stealth more than anything else).
  • God its pretty stereotypical that the Chinese design basically is an exact copy of the American F-22 and the Russian T-50 mixed together EDIT: Didn't mean to offend anyone or anything I just find it looks a hell of a lot like the two combined. But hey they are both great aircraft so the best of both worlds and also most new fighters look the same now anyway, i just found there were really obvious features copied over
  • wot? It's a delta wing with canards.
  • the t-50
  • One of basically two good designs for a fighter jet nowadays.
  • It can't be both an exact copy and two things combined.
